1. In a word document, insert the work of art; please be sure it is at least 4" x 6" (if your image is found in a magazine or newspaper, please cut and paste into your sketchbook).
2. Include all information you find on the work (title, artist, material, size, etc.) You must include your source, using MLA format. NO WIKIPEDIA OR GOOGLE IMAGE SEARCH, PLEASE.
3. Type a thorough description (a paragraph of at least 6 sentences) of the painting and how (hard edge, painterly, etc.) the artist painted it. Please be specific. Write as if you are describing to a good friend over the phone.
4. Type a second paragraph: WHY did you choose this piece? How did the artist make the different parts of the painting cohesive/unified? (Try to use Aesthetic Scanning words: line, shape, form, texture, space, balance, unity, size/proportion, unity, emphasis, pattern, mood, etc. when describing).
5. REMEMBER, you are doing this for TWO different images.
